Relationships are complex. Two individual people, with different personalities, expectations and desires. It is only natural to experience differences with our partner. However, these differences become conflicts and power struggles, and threaten the relationships we cherish.

What’s the Purpose of a Relationship Coach?
Relationships are fundamental to our sense of happiness and wellbeing. Unfortunately, societal messaging tells us that simply loving someone is enough to make a relationship work; and, if you are having conflict in your relationship, it simply means you have not found the right person.
What if we took this same attitude towards other aspects of our lives? What if we said: “If you were meant to play baseball, you should be able to knock it out of the park the first time you pick up a bat”?
Or “If you were meant to be a musician, you should be able to write your own music as soon as you touch a piano”? We know this is absurd.
So why do we assume we can be automatically great at relationships, even if we’re not taught the proper skills?
This is where a relationship coach comes in. Everyone needs help learning how to be good at what they care about, and relationships are no exception.
How Does a Relationship Coach Work With Me?
Before we can dive into a relationship between two or more people, it’s wise to examine the most important one…the relationship with ourselves. We’ll look closely at aspects such as:
- Values
- Limiting Beliefs
- Guilt and Shame
- Filters
- Stress Responses
- Awarenesses
By examining these particular parts of the self, we can get a more accurate view of how you see and deal with the world. Then, we can explore how your constructs affect your relationships
It’s often necessary to turn a relationship around, or flip it on its side, to get a different perspective. That’s where I come into the picture. By posing thoughtful questions and eliciting honest responses from you, the client, we can delve into areas of the relationship often not breached. That’s usually where the hard work begins. However, you have to feel it…to heal it. And together, that’s what we endeavor to do.
Final Thought: Relationship With Self
Knowing one’s self is the easiest yet most complicated relationship anyone will have! The connection we have with ourselves can sometime be filled with uncertainty, confusion, struggles for truth and painful realizations. All these aspects have gifts and lessons within them.
Allow us to help you unravel the puzzle of yourself. If you have trouble making sense out of the nonsense that ping pongs inside you, see if an hour or two with Laura Kim makes a difference. We don’t hold the keys to figuring out the mystery of you. We only know how to help you find them inside yourself.
